Off topic, but here we go:
.
Here is a secret to one of my decoration resources, the website created by lovely Grace:
http://designsponge.blogspot.com I click her website several times a day to get inspirations, ideas and at the end of the day, her postings provides me so many resources that makes me grateful but also feeds my jealousy. (see above picture)
.
This bookcase she inherited from her aunt is my favourite and I cannot seem to find one similar to this. She was kind enough to let me use the photo in here. (below is our correspondence to prove)
.
So here is my dilemma, if you know any store or online site that sells a similar bookcase, would you be kind enough to let me know. I will be forever in your debt.
.In the mean time please check her lovely website and be inspired!

Hi Designsponge,
I am a big fan of your website and I must admit I am a little bit jealous.. :0-) Eversince you posted the red bookcase you inherited from your aunt, my jealousy started growing, as I was looking for a bookcase like that for months. Since I do not have a single family member in US, inheritance of such piece is out of the question, Ebay does not seem to have it either. Any clue where else I should look for?
Also I have my photoblog (http://www.newyorkmuhtari.blogspot.com/). Do you mind if I use this pic (giving full credit to you and to your website) to show it to my readers as my "dream bookcase" maybe one of the reader will tell me a source?

hi :)
oh of course you can use the photo, no worries. thanks for asking though.
hmm..it's sort of a hollywood regency style so perhaps if you search ebay for regency style bookcases? that might be the best bet. i'll ask my aunt if she knows any details on the piece that might help... grace
Merhaba NY Muhtari,
ReplyDeleteNY resimler super !
NY cok guzel dort mevsimler, degil mi? Kar ile ya da gunes ile :)
Kitaplik = Bookcase
Cok guzel kitaplik - sen haklisin.
It's nice to inherit something so beautiful from a relative. I think it's better than inheriting a piece of jewellery or money. It's a beautiful reminder :)
If we ever come across a similar one, we'll let you know.
(My wife says: another option is to get it made. There must be places in NY specializing in reproduction furniture)..
Rastgele !
Suleyman.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Ben yine hayallere dalıyorum, bye!
BURADA ONUN MUADİLLERİ O KADAR PAHALI Kİ..ANLATAMAM..EN İYİSİ TANIDIK BİR MARANGOZA YAPTIRMAK..BU ARADADA ASLI'NIN..TURKUAZ/BEYAZ KOMBİNLİ DEKORASYON ZEVKİ KABARDI..EN SON POST'UN DAN SONRA...SEVGİLER...
ReplyDeleteMerhaba Suleyman,
ReplyDeleteResimleri begendigine sevindim.
I totally agree with you on inheritance such piece, it would mean more than money to me (plus I would cherish it in my everyday living , right?)
I tried asking a local store if they can make a reproduction, but I felt like I am asking them to make a bookcase covered with diamonds...Did I say NY is kinda pricey?
Sometimes I have this crazy idea, to bring a carpenter and upholstery specialist from Turkey, have them stay here for a week, and do an extreme homemakeover edition in my new apt.
Asli, hakikaten tiffany mavisi hos olur du, ama bu kitaplik olsun da ben moruna bile raziyim. :-))
yan tarafındaki işleme abartılı değil mi yaf
ReplyDeletebence kitapligi orijinal yapan o islemesi :-))
